Manuel de Falla y Matheu (CádizEspaña23 de noviembre de 1876Alta GraciaArgentina14 de noviembre de 1946) fue un compositor español. Representante del nacionalismo musical, es uno de los compositores españoles más importantes de la primera mitad del siglo xx, junto a Isaac AlbénizEnrique GranadosJoaquín Turina y Joaquín Rodrigo, y uno de los compositores españoles más importantes de todos los tiempos.

Durante su estancia en París compuso sus obras más célebres: la pantomima El amor brujo, el ballet El sombrero de tres picos (compuesto para cumplimentar un encargo de los célebres Ballets Rusos de Sergéi Diágilev), las Siete canciones populares españolas para voz y piano, la Fantasia Bætica para piano y Noches en los jardines de España, estrenada en el Teatro Real en 1916. 

 Influenció a los músicos de la Generación del 27, a través de su magisterio.

EL SOMBRERO DE TRES PICOS  es una novela tragicómica que narra la historia entre la molinera y el corregidor, o el molinero y la corregidora. Un triángulo amoroso que se enreda por las circunstancias accidentales y procedimientos casuales que envuelven a las dos parejas

La historia se desarrolla a principios del siglo XIX, 1805 para ser exactos, cuando Napoleón creaba y suprimía naciones durante sus conquistas, borrando fronteras y creando distancias de nombre, de sitio y de costumbre.
