A plea to the Spanish Government: don’t come here as tourists any more.

Dinero y apoyo real ninguno. The Spanish Prime Minister has visited La Palma seven times, as have eight of his ministers. No money and no real support.

La Palma does not need visitors who are excited to see the eruption of a volcano live. It needs tourists who come to stimulate the economy, NOT PUBLIC RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT BRING REAL SOLUTIONS. 04.12.2021, Agustín Santana, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

With all due respect for the importance of their public office, we in the Canary Islands beg the Spanish Prime Minister and his ministers not to come to La Palma any more, except to bring cash and deposit it in the Cabildo of La Palma.

Our national leaders are trampling on the dignity of the people of La Palma, and that of all Canary Islanders, when they come again and again and promise immediate aid and two and a half months have passed and none has arrived.

The impression I get in the air is that the Ministers have come to see an erupting volcano, one after the other, and probably some more have already come or are looking forward to doing so. And to come they have to promise something, as an excuse to make this beautiful trip to see a fantastic spectacle.

The people of La Palma and the Canaries welcome the visit of the President and his Ministers with joy, but do not insult the intelligence of the Canaries any more and do not trample on the dignity of the people of La Palma any more.

And another plea to the Canarian politicians: Have dignity and shout and shout until the money arrives. And if not, resign all of you. Please, Bwana.

    • Muchas gracias.
