MUSICA, Yul Ballesteros
Yul Ballesteros es músico, jazzista y compositor. Comenzó sus estudios en Gran Canaria y después de estudiar durante tres años en Madrid fue becado por la prestigiosa Berklee College of Music de Boston, donde se graduó en Mayo de 2007.
Después de muchos éxitos editó en 2019 una magnífica creación jazzística inspirada en las Islas Canarias, ISLAZZ, como homenaje al archipiélago canario, lugar de nacimiento de infinidad de sueños y fuente inagotable de inspiración para el arte. Según sus propias palabras “he intentado plasmar que las islas son pequeños continentes, cada una diferente, con su aura y con un motón de lugares preciosos que inspiran a nivel visual y emocional”.
Son ocho piezas musicales, con el nombre de cada una de las ocho islas y dedicadas a cada una de ellas. En la grabación le han acompañado los mejores músicos de Canarias, como el timplista Germán López, Carlos Oramas o Chano Gil.
Hoy vamos a disfrutar de la pieza GRAN CANARIA, con el compromiso y deseo de escuchar la música de Yul Ballesteros de todas las islas
Yul Ballesteros is a musician, jazz player and composer. He began his studies in Gran Canaria and after studying for three years in Madrid he was awarded a scholarship by the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated in May 2007.
After many successes, he edited in 2019 a magnificent jazz creation inspired by the Canary Islands, ISLAZZ, as a tribute to the Canary archipelago, the birthplace of infinite dreams and an inexhaustible source of inspiration for art. In his own words, «I have tried to capture that the islands are small continents, each one different, with its aura and with a lot of beautiful places that inspire both visually and emotionally.»
There are eight pieces of music, named after each of the eight islands and dedicated to each of them. The recording has been accompanied by the best musicians from the Canary Islands, such as the timpanist Germán López, Carlos Oramas and Chano Gil.
Today we are going to enjoy the piece GRAN CANARIA, with the commitment and desire to listen to the music of Yul Ballesteros from all the islands
